1 Are winter ski gloves warm?

Most winter ski and snowboard gloves and mittens are made with synthetic exteriors, often nylon, 

combine with a waterproof, breathable barrier and some type of insulation to keep your hands warm

in cold, wet conditions.

2 Are mittens warmer than gloves for skiing?

All things being equal (fabrics, thickness, and insulation), mittens are warmer than gloves. Mitts trap 

body heat by keeping your fingers together and reducing evaporative heat loss. In frigid temperatures,

a layered mitt system is the best choice for warmth.
